3 Ways You & Your Employees Can Help Keep Your Office Clean Until The Cleaning Crew Returns

Having a cleaning crew service your office a couple of times a week can go a long way in keeping it clean and looking great. However, in order for your office to maintain the cleanliness that your commercial cleaning service provides you with, you need to have your employees chip in on the days your cleaning service doesn't come to your office. Here are three easy ways your employees can help keep the office looking good all the time.

Establish Break Room Rules

One of the areas that easily seems to get dirty the fastest in between official office cleanings is the break room. By establishing rules for your break room, you can help make it a cleaner and friendlier environment for everyone.

Require all of your employees to clean up after themselves and throw away their trash when they are done eating. If a full trash can is an issue in-between visits from your cleaning service, assign a specific staff member to empty the trash on a daily basis to alleviate this issue.

Next, provide paper towels as well as a general disinfectant so that your employees can easily clean up any mess that they make.

If you provide coffee mugs, plates or silverware for your break room, require all employees to wash off and put their dishes in the sink. Assign someone to run the dishwasher and unload it on a daily basis.

By making these simple expectations clear to your employees, you can cut down on the mess that builds up in your break room in between official cleanings.

Encourage Employees To Leave The Bathroom Looking Nice

Another area of the office that can often get untidy between official cleanings is the bathrooms. Make sure that you have trash cans that are large enough to accommodate all the trash that is generated in between each cleaning. Make sure that you have enough soap and paper towel dispensers for regular use.

Post a sign asking employees to leave the bathroom as clean as they found it to encourage and promote picking up after oneself and others in the restroom.

Make It Easy For Employees To Not Track Dirt Inside

Finally, if you find that your carpets easily get dirty in between official cleanings, make it easier for your employees to clean their shoes and avoid tracking dirt into the office.

Put rubber mats outside of all entryways. Put long rugs inside of all entry ways so that employees can wipe off their feet as they enter the office.

By taking the simple steps listed above, you and your employees can keep your office looking clean and fresh in between official cleanings by your commercial cleaning service.
